The journey over from Hurst to Gurnsey was pretty uneventful. Visibility was fairly poor all the way across, and we found ourselves fine on the starboard bow of a couple of vessels that emerged from the mist within a mile or two of us. As we approached Alderney, the wind picked up a bit, and we enjoyed a few hours sailing before the motor had to go on again.
We anchored outside St. Peter Port, in Havelet Bay. This has the benefit of being free, but you can still get ashore relatively easily by dinghy.
The next day started well with lovely sunshine, but by mid-afternoon the fog closed in again.
On the second day, we went for a walk, having despatched some pictures at the post office. We found a delightful park higher up the hill in St. Peter Port. How many times have I been here and not been far past the high street?
We now have heat again at will, the Eberspacher has been re-fitted and works a treat.
